Transfer to YCCC

The staff at YCCC is here to help guide you through the transfer process. We understand the importance of transferring previously earned credits towards a degree or certificate at YCCC.


How to get started

To get the process started, your first step is to apply to YCCC.

Next, request for an official transcript from each college that you have attended to be sent to YCCC. You will want to contact the Office of the Registrar at your previous college(s) and ask them to send an official transcript:

Let us know what YCCC degree you are interested in so we can show you how close you are to completing a degree. Typically, credits from an accredited college or university with a grade of “C” or higher and fit the YCCC degree program will transfer in.

Reverse Credit Transfer

You can earn your associate’s degree or certificate while you pursue your bachelor’s degree through MCCS Reverse Credit Transfer to get started please complete an MCCS Reverse Credit Transfer Request Form.

Transfer Credits from YCCC to Another Institution

Students must request an official transcript from YCCC to be sent to their new institution.

Credit For Your Experience & Prior Learning

York County Community College recognizes several pathways for the assessment of prior learning, which includes learning that was not obtained in the traditional classroom setting such as work and volunteer experience, military training, workshops, professional certifications, etc.

The college awards credit for examinations based on current American Council on Education (ACE) recommendations. Please discuss your options during the admissions process for consideration in degree planning. The final decision regarding acceptance of all prior learning credits rests with YCCC.
